What makes us different?
So, what makes us different as a Lutheran board? LSA has looked at some important values that come to us from the Scripture and from our strong conviction that “God always comes down.” What is important is that the board, as trustee of God's mission and values, keeps asking the questions about the why and the what of ministry, even though it is so easy to spend all the time on the how questions of budgets, plans and programs.
The LSA booklet, Becoming a Trustee of Lutheran Values, helps board of directors of Lutheran social ministry organizations give clear voice to the values and practices that mark a Lutheran understanding of the world and the church's responsibility to care for the neighbor and advocate for just treatment of all people. Written by Rev. Dr. Arthur W. Scherer, the booklet is intended to assist in the orientation to new members of the board of directors.
