Ted W. Goins, Jr.

Ted W. Goins, Jr., is Chairperson of the LSA Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2010. He has been active on the LSA Board since his election to his first term in 2008.

He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Lutheran Services for the Aging, Inc., based in Salisbury, NC. A ministry of the North Carolina Synod of the ELCA, Lutheran Services for the Aging provides multiple services for seniors and adults with disabilities, including nursing care, adult day care and retirement living. Mr. Goins is a certified nursing assistant and nursing home administrator, and has been in the long term care profession since 1981. He began his career with Lutheran Services for the Aging in 1990 and was named president in 2000. Goins is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College.

He serves on the editorial board of the North Carolina Medical Journal is active in a number of state and national organizations, including the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, and has served on the North Carolina Study Commission on Aging and the North Carolina State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.
