Lutheran Identity

We Are Lutheran

Lutheran is LSA's first name and LSA is called to reinforce that which binds this alliance together. Each of the more than 300 Lutheran health and human service organizations is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is recognized by The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) or has relationships with both. The Old and New Testaments, Lutheran Confessions and theology, Lutheran history, connections to Word and Sacrament ministries, and a commitment to live out a faithful witness to God's love for all people bind the members of LSA together as the body of Christ with a Lutheran accent.

LSA provides encouragement, opportunities for learning and discussion, resources, and stimuli for its members to understand and live out their Lutheran identities and church connections. The resources here are just a beginning point as we share our understandings and witness of our Lutheran heritage and ministry today. We encourage you to share resources you have found valuable.
