Shoppers can select any of the pieces created by the young people in the Samaritas Refugee Foster Care program to have printed on items from Samaritas’ online stores, and all of the proceeds support programming for youth refugees.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Services Carolinas, which held Father’s Day celebrations at its senior care communities. The communities posted videos of family members sending their fathers messages of love, and staff and residents reflecting on what it means to them to be a father.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), which is making efforts to recognize its staff’s hard work with a segment it calls, “Healing Heroes.” LSSI recently recognized social worker Isis Sanchez, whose determination helped resource a family in need.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Compass Housing Alliance, which has made significant adjustments to protect its guests, residents, and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Compass Housing Alliance opened a new shelter location to allow guests to socially distance, and enhanced cleaning procedures.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN), which is providing food pantry services every day during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Partnership for Food Safety Education recognized LSSN on World Food Safety Day, June 7, for its contribution to food security in Las Vegas.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Social Services of New York (LSSNY), which is making efforts to recognize the unsung heroes of the pandemic. Sandra Bisono, case planner for LSSNY’s foster care program, was recently highlighted for her hard work and dedication to her clients.
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSSMN), which is providing much needed resources to its community in times of unrest and uncertainty. LSSMN hosted a donation drive to support community members impacted by grocery store closures, damaged businesses, and transportation challenges, and saw an outpouring of generosity from people all across Minnesota!
Today’s Front Line Hero is Lutheran Family Services of Virginia (LFSVA), which is making efforts to ensure the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are shown well-deserved recognition for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic. LFSVA purchased hoodies for the DSPs, which include a logo that identifies them as heroes.
