Bob FrancisAs many of you know, our director of public policy and advocacy Bob Francis has transitioned out of his public policy work with LSA to pursue a doctorate at Johns Hopkins University. We wish him many blessings, and I’m confident he will stay in touch with our network as he pursues the next step in his life’s journey.

As a testament to the fellowship of our network and the relationships Bob cultivated during his tenure, it was very heartwarming to see all the thoughtful responses that LSA received via social media and the #ThanksBob hashtag.

Check out all the nice messages here:

Though we are sorry to see Bob go, we’re excited that a very talented advocacy professional has joined our team to fill this role – Lindsey Copeland joined us on September 22nd as our new Director of Advocacy and Public Policy.

Lindsey comes to us from the National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities, where she has been their Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs since 2011. In her role at LSA, Lindsay is responsible for developing and implementing federal advocacy strategies for LSA, cultivating partnerships with members of the Administration and Congress, and working with our members to identify and influence public policy issues and funding on the national level. She holds a BA from Hollins University and a J.D. from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law.

We’re excited to have Lindsey apply her experience to LSA to represent our members at the national level and be the voice of advocacy for Lutheran social ministry, and I hope many of you have the chance to meet her soon.
