Press Releases & Statements Lutheran Services in America President & CEO Alesia Frerichs Named to The NonProfit Times’ Power & Influence Top 50 List

July 29, 2026

WASHINGTON — Lutheran Services in America president and CEO Alesia Frerichs has been named to The NonProfit Times’ 2026 Power & Influence Top 50 list.

This year’s honorees were recognized for demonstrating leadership that strengthens the nonprofit sector and the communities it serves. The NonProfit Times recognized Frerichs in part for Lutheran Services in America’s Here We Stand initiative, which unites providers, community leaders, advocates, and partners to protect access to Medicaid, elevate trusted local voices, and advance practical solutions that strengthen families and communities.

“I am honored to be included among this remarkable group of nonprofit leaders,” said Frerichs. “This recognition reflects the extraordinary work of the entire Lutheran Services in America network. Every day, they demonstrate what it means to stand alongside people facing life’s greatest challenges and to build stronger, healthier communities together.

“At Lutheran Services in America, our work is rooted in the inherent dignity of every person. That is the essence of Here We Stand — seeing one another first as neighbors, bringing people together across differences, and advancing practical solutions that strengthen communities.

“The challenges facing our nation are significant, but so is the opportunity to move forward together. We have seen what is possible when providers, congregations, healthcare, businesses, philanthropy, and government work together on behalf of the people we serve.

“Looking ahead, we will continue partnering with leaders at the national, state, and local levels to advance policies, partnerships, and innovations that strengthen communities and expand health and opportunity for older adults, people with disabilities, and children and families across the country.”

Honorees will gather at the National Press Club this fall for the 20th Power & Influence Top 50 Gala where they will receive their award.
