    LSS of South Dakota Testifies Before Senate Committee on Consumer Financial Protections

    A representative from LSA's member Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota, Sheri Ekdom, testified at a hearing before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs on Sept 18, 2014, on the topic of consumer financial services protection. Sarah Meek, the Director of Public Policy and Advocacy for LSA's Disability Network (LSA-DN) also attended the hearing and provided us with photos.

    LSA-DN's Director of Public Policy Elected as Co-chair of Long-Term Services and Supports Task Force

    Congratulations to our LSA-DN's Director of Public Policy and Advocacy, Sarah Meek, for her election as co-chair of the Long-Term Services and Supports Task Force of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities. Sarah has been at LSA since December 2012, directing the Disability Network's federal advocacy activities on issues affecting persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including long-term services and supports, housing, employment and transportation.
