    Attention continues to be given to the influx of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) crossing the borders into the United States. This year, more than 60,000 refugee minors are expected to enter the U.S. from Central America and other regions, and that number is expected to double in 2015.

    LSA Welcomes Valparaiso University CAPS Fellows Program Interns: Nathan King and Caleb Rollins

    LSA is excited to welcome Nathan King and Caleb Rollins to the LSA team for the 2014 CAPS Fellows Program internship. Nathan and Caleb join us from Valparaiso University, a Lutheran institution founded in 1859 and located about an hour outside of Chicago in Indiana. Nathan is currently pursuing a major in Digital Media with a Theology minor and will provide advocacy support to Bob Francis, Director of Advocacy and Policy for LSA.     UST Releasing Funds to Members

    Annually, UST reviews each member's account and determines if a release of funds should be made to the member. Their goal is to make sure an agency is properly funded for the payment of unemployment claims but not to hold more of their money than is necessary to meet those obligations.
