Over the next decade, the number of middle-income older adults who do not qualify for Medicaid yet cannot currently afford long-term services and supports will almost double to 15.9 million and become the fastestgrowing proportion of older adults. Often termed “The Forgotten Middle,” this middle market of older adults are concerned about affording housing and long-term services and supports as they age in their community without being able to qualify for Medicaid.
