Caitlin Augustin, PhD
Caitlin Augustin is the Vice President of Product and Programs at DataKind, a global nonprofit focused on using data, technology, and AI in the service of humanity. A technologist by training, Caitlin is focused on leading community-centered innovation through the creation, adoption, and support of software in the public interest. Outside of work, Caitlin is an organizer of the Orlando Devs, a volunteer-driven 501c3 focused on creating career opportunities and connections in Central Florida’s tech and innovation community. Caitlin holds a BSIE and PhD from the University of Miami.
Nathan Chappell
Nathan Chappell, MBA, MNA, CFRE, is Senior Vice President at DonorSearch AI and a leading expert on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and generosity. He is the author of the award-winning book The Generosity Crisis, praised as essential reading for nonprofit professionals. Mr. Chappell founded Fundraising.AI, a global collaboration focused on Responsible and Beneficial AI for the fundraising community, and co-hosts the Fundraising.AI podcast.
His expertise is regularly featured in Forbes, Fast Company, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy. Mr. Chappell also advises the OpenAI Users Forum, AI for Good Foundation, INCITS, and the Forbes Technology Council. He holds advanced degrees and certificates from the University of Notre Dame, University of Redlands, University of Cambridge, MIT, and the Institute of Sustainable Philanthropy.
Matt Ranen
Matt Ranen currently runs his own consulting practice in scenario planning and strategy, helping clients develop growth, innovation, and risk management strategies as their industries face significant change and uncertainty. He also serves as Program Director for the Strategy Executives Council at The Conference Board, and teaches executive education courses on scenario planning at the Northwestern Kellog School of Management. In these roles, he works closely with senior leaders at many of the world’s leading companies to develop and nurture peer networks and build connections to relevant research and insights.
Prior, he was a senior leader at Global Business Network (GBN), the world’s premier futures and scenario planning consultancy, a part of the Monitor Group strategy consulting firm, and later, part of Deloitte Consulting. Before that, he spent a decade in new product development in the media, advertising, and technology sectors.
Nabiha Syed
Nabiha Syed is Executive Director of Mozilla Foundation, a global nonprofit that champions trustworthy AI and a more open, equitable internet. Previously, she was CEO of The Markup, an award-winning journalism nonprofit whose mission is to help people challenge technology to serve the public good, which intentionally centers human agency. Her leadership at The Markup earned national recognition and inspired major legal action.
Before The Markup, Ms. Syed was a renowned media lawyer, serving in roles like the New York Times First Amendment Fellowship and leading BuzzFeed’s defense in high-profile cases. She is a board member of the Scott Trust, New York Civil Liberties Union, and Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press, and advises ex/ante, a venture fund for agentic tech. Ms. Syed is also part of the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance.

Davis Baird
Davis Baird is the Director of Federal Health & Aging Policy at the SCAN Foundation. With a decade of experience, he has advanced policies improving care for vulnerable older adults and those with chronic illnesses. Previously, he held leadership roles at the National Association for Home Care & Hospice, the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care, and USAging. Davis holds a Master’s in Gerontology from USC and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the College of Charleston.
Fred Bentley
Fred Bentley is a Managing Director in ATI’s Post-Acute/Long-Term Care and Senior Living Practice. Mr. Bentley provides strategic consulting services to post-acute and long-term care organizations, health plans, and innovators in the senior care industry. He focuses on payment and delivery innovations that enhance care for vulnerable populations.
Previously, Bentley was Managing Director at Avalere Health, where he led efforts on value-based care and post-acute care issues, working with payers, providers, and technology companies to drive growth and partnerships. With over a decade of experience, including his work at The Advisory Board Company, Bentley has deep expertise in senior care. He holds master’s degrees in Public Health and Public Policy from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s in Political Science from Haverford College.
Pilar B. Carvajal
Pilar B. Carvajal is the CEO and Founder of Innovation Senior Living, a leading innovator in affordable and middle-income senior housing. With extensive experience in managing businesses that integrate residential and healthcare services, she is known for leveraging government programs to support fixed-income seniors. Before founding her company, Ms. Carvajal was COO of Mia Senior Living Solutions, overseeing nationwide operations for 15 years. She holds degrees from the London School of Economics and Smith College. A mentor, board member, and speaker at major industry events, she is also an advocate for education, arts, and culture. Mrs. Carvajal is an avid traveler and art collector.
Cheryl Fisher
Cheryl Fisher, M.Ed., LPC, is the Vice President of Business Development for Foster Care and Child Welfare Programs at Centene. Cheryl joined the company in 2010 as the Clinical Manager for the Texas Foster Care managed care program. That role grew to include oversight of behavioral health programs in multiple states serving a foster care population. In 2018, Centene created a Foster Care product team to focus on best practices for managing healthcare services for youth served through the child welfare system. Cheryl now leads that team.
Prior to joining Centene, Cheryl was a therapist for the Victim Assistance Centre in Houston, TX, where she provided counseling focusing on child victims of physical and sexual abuse. Cheryl has over 20 years of experience serving children with behavioral health conditions and emotional disturbances.
William A. Hazel Jr., MD
Dr. William Hazel is CEO of Claude Moore Opportunities. Dr. Hazel is a champion for evidence-based health, human services, and technology policies. He earned a Civil Engineering degree from Princeton and a Medical degree from Duke, completing his orthopedic residency at the Mayo Clinic. A former orthopedic surgeon, he served as Assistant Surgeon for the Washington Redskins and team physician for D.C. United.
Dr. Hazel served two terms as Virginia’s Secretary of Health and Human Resources, addressing homelessness, mental health, and the opioid crisis. He later became Senior Advisor for Innovation and Community Engagement at George Mason University. He has led numerous initiatives as President of the Virginia Medical Society, Trustee of the American Medical Association, and co-chair of state councils and task forces.
Ron Hetrick
Ron Hetrick is Vice President of Staffing Strategy and Senior Labor Economist at Lightcast. A leading U.S. labor market expert, Ron began his career at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, providing analysis for Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan and other top institutions. He later became Chief Advising Economist and Director of Market Analytics for the largest U.S. staffing company. Today, Ron presents economic insights to major organizations and is frequently quoted by NBC, CNN, Bloomberg, and other outlets.
Scott Larson
Scott Larson joined HomeAid America as the CEO in October of 2019. Larson brings more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, project management, program implementation and community development to HomeAid America. For the past 21 years, Larson served as the Executive Director of HomeAid Orange County, the founding chapter of HomeAid. Larson united builders, community leaders, service providers and government officials to lead the development of 33 housing projects, valued at $64 million that added more than 975 beds, allowing thousands of previously homeless individuals and families access to safe, dignified housing.
Mark McClellan, MD, PhD
Dr. Mark McClellan is Director and Robert J. Margolis Professor of Business, Medicine and Policy at the Margolis Institute for Health Policy at Duke University. He is a physician-economist who focuses on quality and value in health care, including payment reform, real-world evidence and more effective drug and device innovation. He is former administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where he developed and implemented major reforms in health policy. Dr. McClellan is an independent board member on the boards of Johnson & Johnson, Cigna, Alignment Healthcare, and Prognom IQ; co-chairs the Guiding Committee for the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network; and serves as an advisor for Arsenal Capital Group, Blackstone Life Sciences, and MITRE.
Rodney Whitlock, PhD
Rodney Whitlock is a vice president at McDermott+ with over 25 years of health policy expertise. A former Congressional health policy advisor, he specialized in rural health, the health care safety net, and disability policy. Rodney served as health policy director for Rep. Charlie Norwood (R-GA) and later advised Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Medicaid and health legislation, contributing to major laws like the Deficit Reduction Act and the Affordable Care Act. For two decades, he has also been an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University, mentoring future health policy leaders.
Erhardt Preitauer
Erhardt Preitauer is the President & CEO of CareSource. Preitauer joined CareSource in May of 2018 as an accomplished health care executive with a track record of driving significant growth, profitability, innovation and operational excellence. He has achieved over two decades of transformational leadership and government-sponsored health plan expertise that he will capitalize on in her service to Easterseals.

Pastor Mark Huber
Mark is the founding pastor of Sanctuary Church, a growing community of faith on the South Shore of Boston. He is currently leading Sanctuary’s expansion to a second location in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and when not on the clock can be found hiking, biking, or generally enjoying the beauty of the South Shore with his family. This is Mark’s ninth year joining the CEO Summit as our Theologian in Residence.
